KEYS TO A SUCCESSFUL JOB SEARCH FOR TEENS-Resumes and Cover Letters
Jewish Community Services (JCS), in collaboration with JOIN for Teens, is offering “Keys to a Successful Job Search,” a program specifically for teens ages 14-19 to get the skills they need to find a job, through individual career coaching, Job Fairs, and job skills workshops.
Participants can meet one-on-one with a professional Career Coach, by appointment, to get expert practical advice for their job search.
Free workshops especially for teens are being offered on Sundays in January from11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the JCS office in Owings Mills, 3506 Gwynnbrook Avenue (at the Rosenbloom Owings Mills JCC). Each stand-alone session highlights specific job skills: Resumes and Cover Letters on January 6, Networking and Communication Skills onJanuary 13, Applications and Social Media on January 20, and Interviewing and Follow-up on January 27.
Workshops will also be offered on Tuesday evenings from February 26 through March 19 at the Mitchell David Teen Center. Participants can choose the sessions, dates and times that work for them.
Job Fairs on February 12 and March 3, just for teens and young adults seeking full-time, part-time, seasonal or temporary jobs, will offer opportunities to connect with potential employers and get helpful job search advice.
“Keys to a Successful Job Search” is made possible by a grant from the Grandchildren of Harvey M. and Lyn P. Meyerhoff Philanthropic Fund. The programs are free, but pre-registration is required for the workshops and an individual session with a Career Coach.
