Will the Presidential Primary be Decided Tomorrow?

By Hillary Pennington

419 delegates up for grabs in tomorrow's primary races across 10 states. But what will Super Tuesday hold for the four remaining contestants in this year's presidential primary?

Will Romney sweep?  Or will we once again be surprised by Santorum, Gingrich and Paul?  Will it all be said and done by tomorrow night? Or will Maryland actually have a say come April 3.

Normally, I'd have a prediction on this subject, but my crystal ball's been a little off lately.  Actually, I'm glad it wasn't a done deal on day one.  Personally, I feel McCain was annointed far too soon in '08.  Many states, the vast majority actually, felt like they didn't have a voice in the primary, like McCain was shoved down their throats.  Hopefully, we don't make the same mistakes twice.

In the end, my prediction is that Romney gets it, but I'm hoping it's more earned than expected.  We've certainly had our share of twists and turns thus far, and I hope they continue.  It keeps things interesting.

Speaking of interesting (and fun), join Purple Elephant Politics tomorrow night at 9 pm at Dimitri's as we watch the results roll in from Alaska, Georgia, Idaho, Massachusetts, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Vermont, and Virginia.  Just come, grab a beer, and hang out with us.

It really is fascinating to watch this process, the mechanics of which I still find baffling. When you are at Dimitri's (one of my favorite Catonsville haunts) do yourself a favor and order a pumpkin pie martini. It's not on the menu, but they will make it for you if you ask. Have fun tonight!

Thanks Aliza. I might just try that, although the best part of pumpkin pie to me is the cool whip (and lots of it). Should be an interesting evening to say the least.
