A 13-year-old Woodlawn student was flown to shock trauma with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car Monday morning.
Trayvon Shallomar Gore-Cromer, of the 1800 block of Alta Vista Road, was trying to cross Dogwood Road at Summit Avenue when he ran out in front of a 2010 Ford Focus.
“The Focus was traveling west on Dogwood Road when the pedestrian ran out in front of him,” said Louise Rogers-Feher, a Baltimore County Police spokesman. “Trayvon struck the windshield and came to rest in the eastbound lane of Dogwood Road.” Police received a call at 7:15 a.m., she said.
He was taken to University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma by helicopter.
Police could not confirm if Gore-Cromer is a Woodlawn High School student, but he was struck blocks from the high school, Rogers-Feher said.
