Reisterstown is slowly becoming more and more decrepit. The crime and drugs of the city have slowly lurked their way out into baltimore country straight down park heights and reisterstown road. Compared to what it was like when I lived there growing up to what I hear now, this news report does not actually suprise me. It saddens me and definately makes me worry, but I am not suprised.

It is only as bad as we let it become. Start by taking an interest in your property and look out for your neighbors. I live right in the middle of Reisterstown and do not take anyones crap. The neighborhood is comprised of elderly and families w/ young kids and teens. My kids and the kids in my neighborhood know I won't tolerate any nonsense. Last summer I watched three teens kick mine and my neighbors newspaper down the sidewalk. Out the door I went and caught one grabbed him by the collar and asked who his parents were. He started mouthing off i told my wife to call the cops and he told me his parents name. We don't necessarily have to like our neighbors but we do have to look out for them. Hopefully they will do the same. Turn your porch light on, everyone on our street does it helps alot, everytime I hear a scuffle I get up and look out my window. I work very unusual hours and as I drive through our neighborhood I make it a point to stand out front at 2 or 3am just observing and making sure nothing is amiss. We live in a good community and I plan to keep it that way.
