Retro Reisterstown: 1940s Main Street Grocer

Can you identify this grocery store from the 1940s?

It's no secret that Main Street in Reisterstown is historic. The cemetery next to the library has soldiers from the Civil War buried in it, the library dates back to the 1820s and most Main Street businesses operate in historic structures.

Do you know what building is pictured in this photo? Tell us in the comments.

The site served as Reisterstown's first police station.

If you have a photo from the history of Owings Mills or Reisterstown that you'd like to share in this weekly feature, contact editor Marc Shapiro at marc.shapiro@patch.com.

The cemetery next to the library has soldiers from as far back as the American Revolution buried there. There is a fundraiser happening right now to help restore the wall surrounding the property, as well as, uprighting and preserving the headstones. Take a look at the signs on Cockeys Mill Road!!
