A Reisterstown man was charged in the stabbing of his ex-girlfriend Wednesday night in Owings Mills.
Rockelle Buchanan, 33, of the 100 block of Brookebury Drive, is charged with attempted second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault and use of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure, according to Cpl. Cathleen Batton of the Baltimore County Police. He is currently being held on $1 million bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
His ex-girlfriend, a 38-year-old female, was sent to shock trauma with non-life threatening injuries, and she continues to receive treatment, Batton said.
Police were called to 9000 block of Rock Ledge Court in Owings Mills at 8:17 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a stabbing. The victim and a friend were unloading groceries when Buchanan approached them and a verbal argument started, Batton said.
Buchanan started to punch his ex-girlfriend and tried to drag her up a set of stairs. She tried to get away, at which point Buchanan stabbed her with a knife. She was able to run away and hid in another building until police arrived. Buchanan left in a dark-colored vehicle, Batton said.
Buchanan was arrested on Thursday, Nov. 29, in Northeast, Maryland.
