Playoff Bar & Grill Coming to Cherry Valley Shopping Center
The family-friendly restaurant and bar, which will serve a mix of Italian and American food, hopes to open by the end of the month.
Reisterstown residents will soon have a new place to eat, drink and watch sports with family and friends. And it will be run by some familiar local restaurant owners.
Playoff Bar & Grill, currently under construction in the Cherry Valley Shopping Center, will be owned and operated by Tony Illiano and Mike Heyman. They hope to open by the end of December.
The Illiano name may sound familiar—Tony and his brother, Mike, have been doing business in Baltimore County for 33 years. Together, they own Vito’s Pizza restaurants in Owings Mills, Pikesville and the Towson area.
Playoff Bar & Grill will feature a mix of moderately priced Italian and American food with seafood, steaks, wings, nachos and a kids menu. It will be open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m., with a seven-day wine, beer and liquor license. The bar will have happy hour specials as well.
“It’s a good spot, nice neighborhood,” Illiano said. “There’s nothing really going on in this area with good food and entertainment except for Bill Bateman’s and TGI Friday’s.”
The restaurant will feature two levels of seating and 23 high-definition LED TVs.
“Quality is what we’re really stressing here,” Heyman said.
In the future, the restaurant may feature live music from local bands and the owners are looking into opening an outdoor patio next year.
Playoff is currently hiring wait staff, bartenders and bus boys. Those interested in applying can stop by Playoff at 11706 Reisterstown Road or call 410-526-6500.

Oh yes it'll be a grand ole' time to be had by all once the folks from the townhouses/apartments on High Falcon come over and the fine citizens spread thoughtout Reisterstown in Section 8 housing find their way to this "family" establishment.
Any upstanding citizens every head down to TGI Fridays on a Thursday or Friday night after about 8 p.m......didnt think so.
There's a reason there is 3-5 off duty police officers working at TGI Fridays....those same clients will find this new location and I'm guessing it'll be no better then Maria's was before closing.
None the less....good luck...hopefully they can maintain the upper scale sports bar image and now waddle down to the low life trash that other places in the area attracts.

Thank you to the Illiano family for bring even more life and vitality to our community. Please ignore Patched Me who apparently would be happier if all of our store fronts and restaurants would just sit abandoned. You're a mean one Mr. Grinch!

Let's give it a chance folks! Think of it as Reisterstowns "Green Turtle".

Thanks Jane. People need to hold their negativity when business owners are trying to offer the community a choice in where to spend their money.

Biggest problem is "Tight Money". Working folks cannot afford a night-out as often as in "Pre Obama" times (and they voted him in for another four years of recession, pain and suffering)

I for one am very excited! Marias was the place to go back in the 80s and I have missed it! Vitos has EXCELLENT food so Im sure the food@ Playoff and service will be outstanding as well! I personally will be happy to kiss Batemans good bye! The food there@ Batemans sucks and the service is worse and the wait staff leaves alot to be desired! The place has gone to the dogs so they deserve to close! (even if thats just a rumor) I wish Playoff much sucess, and now when is the Grand Opening?

This area can ill-afford any new 'closings', boarded-up store-fronts, and loss of employment. While I applaud the opening of the Playoff, I'd like to see Bill Betemans stick around. Maybe seeing the faults raised here, B-B's could take heart and clean-up their act with better food and help.

I just happen to live on highfalcon and im a truck driver and my fiance is an attorney and we will definietly be there tomorrow after work. You both sound like great classy buiseness men and we are looking forward to becoming regulars. Negative people like Patch me can stay home and continue to hold conversations with his pet rock.
