A Reisterstown home was gutted in an early morning blaze that started around 1 a.m. Wednesday.

A woman in her 60s was sent to Northwest Hospital for burns on 50 percent of her body. She was transferred to the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, according to Northwest spokesman Noel Lloyd. A spokeswoman at Bayview said her condition was not available Wednesday afternoon.

Crews were called to 20 Blake Court at 1 a.m. and found heavy fire on the first and second floors of a single-family home. The fire, which escalated to a second alarm, was placed under control at 2:23 a.m. by a total of about 15 fire companies and 60 personnel. The cause is under investigation, a press release said.
