For the Martin Luther King Day of service, the Reisterstown Senior Center decided to engage in weeks of service. Here's what senior center director Mike Schneider had to say:

"Our members and members of the Pikesville Senior Center donated mittens, hats, scarves and gloves for the children and families of the Hannah More Shelter. We will be bringing the collected items (handmade and store-bought) to the shelter on Friday, Jan. 20.

This past holiday season, the Reisterstown Senior Center Council presented families with baskets of food and supplies for Thanksgiving and Christmas and Chanukah. In addition, members also arranged for gifts for all the children at the shelter.

The mitten tree was responded to incredibly well - in fact, we had so many mittens, we couldn't fit them all on the tree."
