Franklin High Spanish Teacher Brian Dewey was recently named a Rookie Teacher of the Year by the Teachers Association of Baltimore County. The award is given to teachers who in their first five years of teaching and demonstrate excellence equal to that of veteran educators. Dewey was acknowledged for his enthusiasm and dedication in the classroom, but also for his roles as the technology liaison for the foreign language department and assistant coach for the Franklin varsity football team. Through night classes, Dewey is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in science while he works as a teacher. Courtesy Photo
