Obama to Attend Owings Mills Fundraiser
President Barack Obama will stop by Owings Mills before his appearance in downtown Baltimore Tuesday, according to the Baltimore Sun.
President Barack Obama will attend a high-profile fundraiser lunch at the home of an Owings Mills developer Tuesday before an appearance in Baltimore's Inner Harbor, according to the Baltimore Sun.
Obama will visit the home of campaign donors Josh and Genine Fidler, owners of Chesapeake Realty Partners, one of the area's largest development firms, according to the Sun.
The Sun reports that guests will pay up to $50,000 to attend the lunch, a long cry from the donations ranging from $250 to $10,000 to gain entry to the event in Baltimore, which will be held at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore at the Inner Harbor, according to WJZ-TV.
It's also more than the recent VIP fundraiser George Clooney held in Los Angeles, which cost guests $40,000 to attend and raised $15 million, according to the Huffington Post.
Records indicate that the Fidlers live on Greenspring Valley Road. The effect of the presidential visit on traffic is unknown.
Obama last visited the Baltimore suburbs in February 2011, when he praised the science and technology department at Parkville Middle School.

Such a waste of money. Why don't some of these people donate just a portion of this kind of money to the needs around them.

Because that doesn't get them access and a return on their investment. It's good business to invest in politicians.

So why do Dems give Mitt Romney a hard time for his money? Success doesn't make you bad, it usually means that you're smart and work hard.

We're supposed to care, why? How many lunches for the homeless could $50,000 buy? How many pairs of shoes could that much money buy for kids who need them? This is just another example of wasteful spending. The people who pay $50,000 to have lunch with the loser Obummer should learn to spend their money on better endeavors. I know, I know, people can waste their money on whatever they please.

What our Country REALLY needs is some serious campaign finance reform to get big corporations out of the "run our country business".
Until this can somehow be achieved we will continue getting the screws by both parties.
Our Country was not founded on greed and big money..

After I found out that the owners of Chesapeake Realty gave tons of money away to politicians, I am really pissed! That wasn't all their money, that was OUR money! They not only own all of the townhouses in Reisterstown on Highfalcon, but Reisterstown Shopping center...at least they used to. But when they did own the shopping center, they used to triple the price of rent when it was time to renue the leases, there for that is how we lost the Village Theatre among one of the businesses. I can only imagine the rent increases on the townhomes they owned on Highfalcon. Those places had paper thin walls and cheap kitchen appliances.

So that's why there were police cars at every driveway and side road along Greenspring Valley. When I came through there to Craddock Lane, I was freaking out when I kept seeing police cars. My initial thought was "Is it safe to continue on this route?" Then I thought maybe there was a police funeral, however that would be a strange route to Dulaney Valley...I just hope that their services weren't needed elsewhere while they were sitting and waiting.

25% of Police work is watching and waiting. For this visit by OB, 110%. I wonder how many lost their day off.
