Robbers Brandishing Guns Hold Up Jewelry Store
It's the fourth armed robbery in the Owings Mills/Reisterstown area in a week.
Two men with guns robbed a jewelry store on Reisterstown Road in Owings Mills Wednesday afternoon, smashing jewelry cases and pushing employees to the floor, Baltimore County Police said.
The men, both armed with handguns, stole custom jewelry, rings and watches from Antony Jewelers at 11238 Reisterstown Road just before 5 p.m. Wednesday, said police Lt. Stephen Doarnberger, assistant commander of the Franklin Precinct.
When the men entered the store at 4:54 p.m., one pointed a gun at a woman working behind the counter, Doarnberger said. The man then grabbed the woman and threw her to the floor, Doarnberger said.
The second man went into a back room of the jewelry store and forced a male employee at gunpoint to the front of the store, where he was also forced to the floor.
The men then broke glass the glass to jewelry cases and stole several items before leaving, Doarnberger said.
The hold-up is the fourth armed robbery in the Owings Mills and Reisterstown area in the last week, police incident reports show.
One robbery happened at the Piercing Pagoda kiosk in Owings Mills Mall, another outside the Sunoco at 11701 Reisterstown Road and a third outside a home on Straw Hat Road.
Police do not believe the robberies are connected, Doarnberger said.

This is so sad. I feel so sorry for those people working there. What is going on? Has anyone heard the helicopter flying around the past three nights?

I'd be a lot less concerned about these recent robberies if they were connected. The fact that they're not believed to be means there are even more criminals out there, they're getting closer, and they're getting pretty bold. That's kind of scary for a sleepy little town such as ours.

Does anyone have the fortitude to correlate the increase in crime to the change in demographics in the Reisterstown/Owings Mills area? Any suspect descriptions in any of these cases?

Brian, nope. We all have to keep out mouth shut. Wouldn't want to be called a racist even if you're stating facts would you?

Shhh, don't even mention Owings Mills Mall (when it first opened) and the opening of the Metro Service.
On the other hand, this store has been hit multiple times, maybe time to invest in armed security?
