Get Out: Golfing, the Fair and a Father’s Day Hike

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.

1)    PIMLICO RACETRACK FAIR

Where/When: Pimlico Racetrack at 5201 Park Heights Ave. in Baltimore on Friday, June 17, at 5 p.m., Saturday, June 18, at 1 p.m. and Sunday, June 19, at 1 p.m.

Why Go: There's such a wide variety of things to do at this fair, it'll be hard for you to pick what to do first! There will be a magic show, animal shows, a petting zoo, food, rides, vendors … the list goes on and on!

Pricing: $4 (with 2-for-1 coupon available at the website); $8 otherwise; rides and food are priced individually

2)    FRANKLIN HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS DEPARTMENT GOLF TOURNAMENT

Where/When: Oakmont Green Golf Club at 2290 Golfview Lane in Hampstead on Friday, June 17, at 7:30 a.m.

Why Go: Support Franklin High School athletics and hit the links! You'll get lunch and a gift bag, and afterwards, there will be an awards reception.

Pricing: Individual golfer: $85; foursome: $320

3) ALIEN WEEDS PAPERMAKING WORKSHOP

    Where/When: Soldiers Delight Natural Environmental Area on Sunday, June 19, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

    Why Go: Register in advance for this class that will teach you how to make non-native plants into paper.

    Pricing: $25

    4) FATHERS DAY HIKE

      Where/When: Soldiers Delight Natural Environmental Area on Sunday, June 19, from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

      Why Go: If you can't make it to the papermaking workshop, why not try to come out for this special Fathers Day hike that will take you through the Serpentine Barrens of Soldiers Delight? And if you're already at the workshop, why not stick around and make a day of it?
