First Generation, an award-winning documentary about the problems that first-generation and low-income college students face, will be shown for free at New Town High School at 7 p.m. tonight.
The documentary, which is not in theaters yet, follows four students – an inner-city athlete, a small-town waitress, a Samoan warrior dancer and the daughter of migrant field workers – through the college process and includes commentary from educational experts, according to a Baltimore County Public Schools press release.
