Comment: ‘Is There Nothing Sacred Anymore?’

Baltimore-area Patch readers speak their minds.

This past week, Patch readers got riled about concert venue closures, Sonic coming to town, pet cemeteries and more. Here’s what your neighbors are saying:

Towson Patch:
“I have been a regular of the Recher for many years. I happen to know for a fact that it hasn't been profitable for them in a long time. They delayed this inevitable change as long as possible. But to survive they must adapt. I am sad to see this place and I doubt I will go to their nightclub, but I won't begrudge them the right to run a business that is actually profitable. It is the responsibility of the town council, and local government to provide safety, handle so-called riots, and police the area. That is not the concern of the business.” – RL on Recher Theatre Shutting Down, Torrent Lounge Opening in Place

Owings Mills-Reisterstown Patch:
Was this a good guy with a gun? Oh, my.” – Lloyd Lachow via Facebook on UMD Police Trainee Shot During Owings Mills Exercise

Lutherville-Timonium Patch:
"Bring Sonic in. That place has been vacant for years...more jobs, etc...why stop progress?" – Mike on Sonic, America's Drive-In Coming To Timonium?

Dundalk Patch:
"Eastwood closure is nothing more than land grab. County wants building it is housed in. A poorly thrown together plan to appease the county and not in best interest of students…And for the record nowhere in BCPS do elementary school kids attends school with middle school kids. Why should they start now? As a parent of Eastwood student and resident of Eastwood community, way too many questions are left unanswered.” – Tim Sapp on Dundalk to School Board: Keep Eastwood Open

Parville-Overlea Patch:
"Is there nothing sacred anymore? These are the resting places of our beloved pets that most consider as "family members." Our furry or feathered children…dogs, cats, birds...most of the Police dogs are also at rest here. The fact that people would even consider disrupting this is ludicrous. Why should they be treated any different than our human loved ones? People have no respect.” – Kim on Ridgeleigh Residents To Strategize on Pet Cemetery's Fate
