BGE Finishes Utility Work on Reisterstown Road

The utility company expected traffic patterns to return to normal Saturday morning.

Traffic should be getting back to normal on Reisterstown Road in Owings Mills, after Baltimore Gas and Electric completed work near Owings Mills Boulevard Friday, a BGE statement said.

Equipment was to be cleared and traffic flow was to be returned to normal by Saturday morning, BGE said.

“BGE worked virtually around-the-clock to limit the duration of this project and worked closely with the State Highway Administration to ensure a safe, well-coordinated effort,” said Jeannette M. Mills, senior vice president and chief customer officer for BGE.

“We recognize that our work may have been inconvenient for motorists, particularly those who travel the affected road on a regular basis, as well as businesses in the area. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we complete this important work that reinforces our electric distribution system and enhances service reliability for customers in this area.”

On Friday, Nov. 18, repairs started on an underground cable that supplies BGE’s Sudbrook Park Substation in Pikesville.

The work had forced lane closures and changes to normal traffic patterns along Reisterstown Road from Rosewood Lane to Owings Mills Boulevard.
