BGE: 375 Reisterstown Customers Still Without Power

BGE officials said power should be restored to all customers by 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Hundreds of Reisterstown residents were without power after a car collided with a utility pole on Main Street Wednesday morning.

Main Street is closed between Chartley Drive and Glyndon Drive and motorists are being detoured around the Chartley Shopping Center via Shirley Manor Road. The pole struck was at the corner of Stocksdale Avenue.

About 375 customers in the Reisterstown area were still without power around 1:20 p.m., said BGE spokeswoman Rachael Lighty. When power first went out, 3,000 customers were affected, she said.

BGE workers are installing a new utility pole and power should be restored to all customers by 7 p.m., Lighty said.
