Athlete of the Week: Franklin's Reggie Ellis

The junior running back/wide receiver tallied 180 total yards and three touchdowns in Saturday's win over Parkville.

Athlete: Reggie Ellis

School: Franklin

Year: Junior

Sport: Varsity Football

Position: Running Back/Wide Receiver

Accomplishment: With the Indians desperately needing to win Saturday on the road against Parkville to keep their playoff hopes alive, Ellis stepped up huge.

The junior do-it-all specialist hauled in touchdown passes from Jackson Thornton of 65 and 43 yards and also served as Franklin’s leading rusher in the team’s dominant 41-6 victory to improve to 6-2 on the year.

Ellis needed only four carries to amass 72 yards on the ground (18 yards per rush)—a stat line that also included 45-yard touchdown gallop to help the Indians extend their lead to 27-6 in the second quarter.

All told, Ellis finished the game with 180 yards from scrimmage and there total touchdowns.

Having put in time at running back, wide receiver and kick returner, Ellis has proven his worth as a versatile player all season long.
