A man found dead of an apparent suicide late Thursday afternoon is believed to be a person of interest in a murder investigation in Baltimore City.

Elise Armacost said the man's body was found in a building in the 5500 block of Baltimore National Pike in Woodlawn.

The man is not being identified pending notification of next of kin.

The man is believed to be a person of interest in an ongoing investigation of a homicide on Atholgate Lane in west Baltimore. The location of the death in the city is about 2 miles from the building where the body of the unidentified person of interest was discovered.
