Owings Mills High School will be holding an Open House on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 for all prospective students in the area. Parents and students can visit the high school and see what Owings Mills High has to offer.
Included in the agenda is a Q&A ses-sion for parents involving Principal Diane Garbarino, PTSA President Mrs. Francine Selzer, Guidance Depart-ment Chair Andrea Wilson, and Ath-letic Director Brian Bandurchin. As the parents are in their Q&A session, their children will be involved in a Q&A session of their own. Students will hear from current OMHS stu-dents about various topics including the transition to high school, different clubs and organizations they can join, and what their first year at OMHS was like.
After the Q&A sessions, parents and their children will get an opportunity to tour OMHS, participating in demonstrations from various departments in the school. For example, Science will be showcasing labs, while the TV studio will have an interactive activity for parents and students.
The Open House is geared towards 8th grade students who are zoned for OMHS, but parents and students from all grade levels are welcome to attend. Assistant Principal Elliot Flam is excited for OMHS to be able to shine, saying, “This should be a great night. It gives OMHS the opportunity to connect with the commu-nity and highlight all the great programs and courses that we have to offer."
