There is no better way to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday than reading to a child. Jemicy parent David Hurwitz, dressed as Cat in the Hat, did just that when he surprised and delighted students in Jemicy’s JE Community with a visit to their class this week. During his visit, Mr. Hurwitz read his own personal childhood copy of Yertle the Turtle to the boys and girls. Dr. Seuss’s use of rhyme makes his books an effective tool for teaching young children the basic skills they need to be successful readers.
