Darlene Davis Elected as SBLC Officer

The South Baltimore Learning Center (SBLC) has elected Darlene Davis to serve as secretary on its board of directors for 2012-2013.  

An Owings Mills resident, Davis is an attorney with Ober, Kaler Grimes & Shriver in Baltimore. She chairs the SBLC fund development committee and is a past gala co-chair.

“Our board and board leadership are a key component of the SBLC team,” said SBLC Executive Director Sonia Socha. “Their volunteer time, commitment, professional expertise and support continue to help the organization grow and evolve as a successful, mission-driven nonprofit.”   

The South Baltimore Learning Center is a community-based nonprofit organization providing functional literacy and life skills training in addition to career preparation services to educationally disadvantaged adults in the Baltimore area. It has been in operation since 1990 and now serves over 1,000 adults annually.
