Jemicy’s youngest students were visited today by Paul Reichert, a life-long cartoonist/illustrator and author of children’s books including The Lemonade Ripple. Paul, who by day is an attorney in the D.C. area, spoke to the children about the message of the book, and by way of example, explained to the students how all proceeds from this book are being donated to The Foundation for Community Betterment, “a national, non-profit organization founded in 2000 by a group of friends seeking to “better” their communities by making an immediate, positive impact on the lives of needy individuals, families, or organizations who currently lack the means to succeed.”  The children shared ways they had helped others less fortunate in their own communities.
